Each campsite at Bright Angel has a steel picnic table, containers for keeping food away from wildlife (and vice versa), and a pole to hang your gear on.

Most hikers leave the Rim early in the morning to arrive at Bright Angel Campground or Phantom Ranch before the heat of the day sets in.  The downhill hike can usually be done in about 4 hours.  Then you get to sit in the oven all day long, hoping it gets cool enough to sleep.
